Late Prof and now Dr (posthumously) Anand K Pathak (fondly known as AK Pathak) was mainly responsible for convinving CSI execom to award the event to Pune. Unfortunately he passed away last year. It was his dream to have CSI Annual convention once in Pune in his life time. He was the event chair of CSI 2009.

In his memory, execom has decided to dedicate CSI 2009 to Late Dr A K Pathak.
